Sweetness: Dry
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Grape info: In France, Sauvignon Blanc finds its purest expression in the Loire valley. The appellation of Menetou-Salon offers unblended, unoaked expressions in a similar, if slightly more rustic, style to its more famous neighbour: Sancerre.
About: Founded in 1962 the Durand estate eventually expanded to include 43 hectares of vines: 33 in and around Sancerre with a further ten in Menetou-Salon. Working in the principle of minimum intervention with the utmost respect for the environment, wines are made with great care in-situ and have established the domaine’s excellent reputation.
Tasting note: Pale gold in colour with green hues. An open nose of white flowers and exotic fruits: gooseberry, lychee, passion fruit and grapefruit. Elegant and refreshing on the palate with a keen acidity and lengthy finish.
Character: Racy, exotic, citrus
