Grape info: The
vineyards of Beaune cover an extensive strip of land on the plains and slopes
to the west of the town. Here, Pinot Noir tends towards a lighter, aromatic expression
with a hint of spice.
About: Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot’s vineyards now encompass six estates that cover Burgundy from north to south. Working together with their grower partners, they practise sustainable viticulture with a commitment to converting fully to organic viticulture in the Côte d’Or.
Aged entirely in oak with a proportion (20-30%) in new oak for a total period of 14-16 months.
Tasting note: Alight nose with a touch of smoke and vanilla, punctuated by aromas of raspberry and cherry. The palate is well-defined, again with notes of raspberry and cherry along with plum and clove. The finish is intense with notes of liquorice and violet.
