Grape info: Towards the south of the Côte de Nuits, Nuits-Saint-Georges produces stylistically diverse Pinot Noirs depending on their location within the commune. Typically though, wines tend towards more structure, tannin and colour to that of their southern counterparts around Beaune.
About: Founded in 1831, Albert Bichot’s vineyards now encompass six estates that cover Burgundy from north to south. Working together with their grower partners, they practise sustainable viticulture with a commitment to converting fully to organic viticulture in the Côte d’Or.
Aged entirely in oak with a proportion (20-30%) in new oak for a total period of 14-16 months.
Tasting note: The nose opens up to aromas of forest floor and mushroom as well as notes of redcurrant and raspberry. The palate features notes of gingerbread and cherry with harmonious balance. The finish is long and intensely aromatic, evocative of red fruit and spices.
