Sweetness: Dry
Grape: Bacchus
Grape info: England’s second most planted white variety, behind Chardonnay, Bacchus is well suited to the cooler English climate where it ripens readily, producing aromatic and fresh whites with more than a passing resemblance to Sauvignon Blanc.
About: Since 2002, Balfour has been at the heart of the growing English Wine industry- winning National and International awards, and the acclaim of sommeliers and wine experts to become one of England’s most respected wine producers.
The Liberty used wild yeasts and oak to create layers of complexity, body and a spicy character which add a new dimension to the traditional Bacchus flavour.
Tasting note: An intense, grassy nose with hints of rose petal and citrus spice. Fresh acidity with green apple, tangerine peel and a long, bright finish.
Character: Citrus, cut grass, tangerine
